Michael Keller

Michael is a renowned designer and the founder and head of Blackspace, one of the biggest and successful design studio in Germany.

He is one of the most well known alumni from Parsons School of Design where he received the Cooper Union Scholarship, before he led KMS, founded its extension KMS Blackspace and most recently the independent design studio Blackspace. Dedicated to reinventing brand identities and experiences, the German powerhouse has transformed brands like Audi, Kia, the World Trade Center, O2, Vodafone, Lamborghini, and many more. Blackspace was awarded Agency of the Year multiple times and has created multiple exhibitions and museums, concerts, brand experiences and more than 80 trade fair exhibitions, including the the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mondial de l’Automobile Paris as well as the Geneva, Tokyo, New York, Beijing and LA Motor Show. Furthermore, they introduced numerous initiatives which have changed the German creative industry sustainability, such as the Otl Aicher initiative, little Art, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, as well as several projects with His Royal Highness The Duke of Bavaria.

Michael has published several books, featured in more than a dozen exhibitions worldwide and received more than 500 awards and honours, including Cannes Lions, iF design awards, the Red Dot Grand Prix, multiple D&AD pencils and the Art Directors Club of New York Award. He is also a member of the renowned International Patrons as well as the Art Directors Club Germany and has been selected as the jury president for D&AD in spatial design, a category that was added because of his work and the influence it had on the design industry. Apart from appearances at The Berlin School Of Creative Leadership, The Forward Festival and podcasts such as A Change of Brand, Michael has been featured in numerous prominent media outlets, such as Vanity Fair, Forbes, Süddeutsche Zeitung (Germany’s most viewed news media), Dezeen and Architectural Digest, to name a few.
